This media outlet has played a significant role since its inception in the political and social life of Serbia, with a particularly important role during the time of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ).<\/p>\n<p>The construction of the original Politika building, which is still located in Makedonska Street (formerly Poenkareva Street), was completed in 1922. The architect was Milan Sekuli\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>On the site of the current Politika building at number 29, there was the building of the Second Belgrade Gymnasium, constructed between 1909 and 1910, and demolished in 1960.
